In the afternoon of Friday, October 18th HVFC was happy to host a group from the Carroll County Homeschool Community Center for a fire safety presentation and a firehouse tour.
Over the last few weeks HVFC has visited all the local schools and several daycare centers to spread the word about fire safety. We would like to remind everyone that fire safety IS a year round activity.
- Have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms on every level, and test them monthly. - Have a home fire escape plan and practice it - “Close Before You Doze” - A closed door can be an effective barrier against deadly levels of carbon monoxide, smoke, and flames, and may give you more time to respond to the smoke alarm.
Interested in serving your community and helping us spread the word about fire safety? HVFC is always looking for new members to help us with our mission. You do not have to respond to emergencies, if you have time and interest we have something for you to do! |
