FIRE COMPANY PARTICIPATES IN "NEVER FORGET" 5K AND 1 MILE FUN RUN
By Firefighter/EMT Richard Zaykoski
September 11, 2011
On the 10 year anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, the Shiloh Middle School History Club hosted the Never Forget 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at North Carroll High School. The event is a way to commemorate the attacks of 10 years ago.
The Hampstead Fire Company supported the event by providing the crew of Engine 23 as stand-by support as well as having several fire company members participate in the event. Although it seemed that everyone who was there had a good time participating in the run and walk, there were many heavy hearts remembering the reason why this event was organized.
Proceeds from the event go to The WTC Tribute Center, Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run Foundation, FDNY Brotherhood Foundation, FDNY Rescue 1, and the Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company.
