Around 21:50 hours Saturday night, a few moments after a portion of Hampstead experienced a power outage, Stations 2, 4, and 9 were alerted for a vehicle collision with rescue, car into pole. Quickly Medic 29, Engine-Tanker 24, and Truck 2 called en route. Upon arrival, Medic 29 advised they had a car into a pole, live wires on the ground, the car fully involved in fire, and the car's occupants had self-extricated. Because of the power lines laying in the road and across the car, the engine crew could not immediately make access to attack the fire. Once BGE had arrived and verified that the power lines were no longer energized, the vehicle fire was extinguished.
