By Fire Lieutenant JJ Lynott
April 22, 2024

Just after 8am this morning HVFC was alerted for a vehicle collision in the area of the Hampstead Bypass south traffic circle. The call was upgraded by Carroll County fire dispatch to a vehicle collision with entrapment while units were enroute.

Truck 2 and Paramedic 28 arrived on scene between the south and middle traffic circle to find an apparent two vehicle head on collision. Paramedic 28 advised there were three patients and no one was trapped. Truck 2 arrived and Chief 2-1 established command. Additional resources were requested including two MSP medevac helicopters. Three patients were transported via medevacs to trauma centers.

The Maryland State Police were on scene along with other allied police agencies and are handling the investigation.

Units: Engine 21, Truck 2, Paramedic 28 and Chief 2

Mutual Aid: Units from Manchester VFC, Westminster VFC, Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS, Baltimore County (Glyndon VFC) and MSP Aviation
