The Auxiliary was founded in 1905 as “The Ladies Auxiliary to The Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company” to provide support to the Company. Many years later the Auxiliary accepted male members thus changing the official name to “The Auxiliary to The Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company”.
The Auxiliary provides support in many ways, monetarily, preparing food for the Company at the scene of major incidents, as well as assisting in any Company sponsored event. The support this group supplies is invaluable and is greatly appreciated.
The Auxiliary raises funds by catering banquets, receptions, reunions and anniversary party’s. In addition they also operate the main food stand at the annual Company carnival held each August.
The Auxiliary meets on the last Monday of each month at 7:30 P.M. in the dining room of the firehouse, except the months of June, July, August, and December.
