| This week, Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company had the opportunity to support the Read Across America program at Hampstead Elementary School.
Company President Jim Dwyer visited a 4th grade classroom where he read to the students and spent time answering their questions about the fire service, emergency response, and what itβs like to serve the community as a firefighter.
Programs like Read Across America provide a great opportunity for community members to engage with students, promote the importance of reading, and help young people learn more about the roles that public safety organizations play in their community.
We thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to support our local schools, connect with the students, and help expand their perspectives on the fire department and the important work firefighters and EMS personnel do every day.
