Yesterday at 6:42 PM, Hampstead Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding departments were alerted to a reported house fire in the 800 block of S. Main St. Chief 2, Engine 21, Truck 2, Utility 2, Brush 25, and Medic 29 responded to the scene. Staffing included 13 volunteers and 3 career staff from the Carroll County Department of Fire & EMS

Engine 21 arrived to find a multi-family dwelling with heavy smoke coming from the front and fire showing on the “Delta” side. Crews initiated a transitional attack and operated on the scene for several hours. Chief 2 served as the incident commander.

There were no injuries reported. The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is conducting an origin and cause investigation.

HVFC would like to thank the New Windsor Volunteer Fire Company for filling our station while units operated on scene.
