| At approximately 12:30hrs on Wednesday, November 14 Medic 28, Station 2, and rescue squad 4 was alerted for a vehicle collision with one trapped on 482 and Broadbeck Rd. Upon the arrival of Medic 28, it was determined that there was indeed one person trapped with a medium size pickup truck on its side. The crews from Engine Tanker 24 and Rescue Squad 4 worked quickly to stabilize the vehicle to begin the extrication process. One fire fighter stood ready with a hand line while the others worked to remove the trucks roof. Approximately 15 to 20 minutes later the victim was removed and transported by ground to a local area hospital. A trooper med-evac helicopter was requested but was grounded due to weather conditions. The accident is believed to be caused by a loss of control causing the truck to swerve off the road, strike a utility poll and roll over. All units cleared about an hour later. |
