On Friday evening Truck 2 was alerted for Box 3-20 for the apartment fire with rescue as part of the first alarm of the fire. Engine 23 was alerted on the 2nd alarm. Truck 2responded with a full crew and arrived while the structure was still well involved with fire. Truck 2 set up its aerial on the Delta side of the structure while its crew split and was assigned different tasks. Part of the truck's crew went into the exposures of the main fire building and checked for extensions as well as hooking ceiling and assisting with extinguishment. During these operations, Hampstead firefighters also rescued two cats from the home. Meanwhile Truck 2's other crew waited for Tower 3 to knock the fire from above then moved into the main fire building and extinguished the majority of the fire on the first floor with the assistance of crews from New Windsor (10), but had to pull out after crews discovered a weakening floor which later collapsed.
