Saturday night's thunderstorm brought down many tree limbs and utility wires throughout town. Crews responded to multiple locations for wires down. Engine Tanker 24 responded to reports of live wires down on a vehicle with an occupant still inside. Crews arrived to find electric wires lying across the top of an occupied pick-up truck. A perimeter was established and the driver remained inside the safety of the vehicle until BG&E arrived to secure the power and remove the electric line.

All drivers are advised to remain in their vehicle in the event of contacting utility lines. Never approach downed power-lines in a vehicle or on foot and always assume they are live with electricity.
