Five minutes after the clocks struck midnight, Station 2 was alerted to assist on the large mulch fire in Lineboro's first due on North Church Street near the Pennsylvania Line. The call came after station 7 units were dispatched to investigate an outside fire in the area, upon their arrival, it became clear some additional resources were needed. A very large pile of mulch, tree stumps, and wood burned through the night as crews worked to extinguish it. Truck 2 flowed the aerial water-way onto the pile as Engine Tanker 24 assisted in the water shuttle. After all, crews remained on scene for upwards of six hours working on this call.
