Saturday afternoon the station was alerted to respond into Baltimore County for a woods fire at 17000 block of Falls Road. Engine 23 responded with six volunteers and ran along with crews from Arcadia. While en route, update information advised the fire was spreading and very close to a house and shed. Engine 23 was first to arrive and found about three acres of woods on fire with extension right up against the house and shed; Chief 2-1 had command. Additional Brush Trucks, Engines, and Tankers were requested along with the Division Chief from Baltimore County. Upon arrival Hampstead's crew quickly extinguished the fire near the house, stopped the fire from reaching the shed, and contained the fire along the edge of the woods in the neighboring field. Crews were on scene for about three hours between extinguishment, overhaul, and mop up. Reese transferred an Engine to Hampstead's quarters.
