| Sunday afternoon members of the Hampstead Fire Company gathered for a Overland Rope Rescue Training session. This practical training consisted of overland rescue, rigging, mechanical advantage, z rigs, anchoring, knots, and high lines. Members went to the Hampstead Bypass to practice these evolutions. This training was hosted and overseen by ATR Technician and Fire Lieutenant Jared Brown from Hampstead. Firefighters practiced rescues in various situations such as steep hills, practiced with the rope gun, and practiced establishing a highline between two hills. In the end everyone left with tons of knowledge and new information about the rope world. |
