The "Blizzard of 2009" struck the East Coast piling well over twelve inches of snow around the Town of Hampstead and the rest of Carroll County. Some locations even received up to two feet of snow breaking new records for the area's snowfall. The Blizzard dumped record amounts of snow from North Carolina to Canada causing deadly conditions on the roads up and down the East Coast. Members brought out the Snowplow outfitted on the Brush Truck and Utility to clear the apron and firehouse parking lot. While most people have already dug out, many roads remain icy and snow covered. The Snow Storm, as with all snowy conditions, causes extended response times for emergency vehicles, and further complicates simple emergencies while under inclement weather. Until all the ice has melted, use caution, and drive carefully! And Have a great Holiday and a Happy New Year!
