Members of the medic unit replacement committee traveled to the Life-Line Emergency Vehicles plant in Sumner, Iowa today to conduct a delivery inspection of a new custom built medic unit. Committee members also received a tour of the Life-Line new unit facility and the refurbishing operation located nearby. The management and staff of Life-Line were very knowledgeable in regards to their products and very attentive to the needs and wishes of the committee members. The new unit is in the process of being delivered to the dealers shop (Diamond State Ambulance) in Delaware with a stop in Hampstead for the membership to inspect the unit for themselves. The new unit will be lettered, have aluminum wheels added, as well as drop snow chains prior to returning to the Hampstead station. The new ambulance committee is anticipating the unit going in to front line service on, or before December 1st.
