Four HVFC members attended FROG: Fire Rescue Organizational Guidance developed by the Volunteer & Combination Officers Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. This course emphasizes working together to develop solutions to common leadership challenges through discussions and scenarios presented by the course facilitators. Class discussion revolved around real world challenges found throughout many firehouses. Student discussion was able to be tailored to fit specific challenges perceived in their own firehouses.

Attendees arrived Friday evening to enjoy a dinner, prepared by Berlin Fire Company, and introductions. After a delicious meal, attendees departed Berlin to entertain themselves for the night. Class was held at the Holiday Inn on 17th Street and begun at 8am Saturday morning. After a break for lunch class concluded that afternoon. That left attendees free to enjoy time with their families. Many went out to dinner as large groups and enjoyed each others company. After dinner it was on to the Winterfest of Lights. A Tram was reserved and the class took a ride through the decorated Northside Park. Class resumed the following day at 8am.
