On the evening of April 9th 2013, Hampstead's Firefighter/EMT Brandon Solomon was recognized as the Firefighter of the year. Solomon began his fire service career in 2006 when he was among the top Juniors of Hampstead's Junior Program. After reaching 16, he joined the ranks of the senior company and began his formal training. He received his initial Hazmat Operations training through Carroll County and completed his initial Firefighter training through Anne Arundel County's Summer Fire Academy in Millersville. He then graduated from the Emergency Services Technology (E.S.T.) Program through the Carroll County Career & Technology Center in Westminster. Solomon finished among the top of his class and left quite a legacy during the program's exaugural year with the Career and Technology Center.
Today, Solomon holds certifications as Firefighter I, Rescue Technician, Truck Company Operations, Hazardous Materials Operations, Firefighter Survival & Rescue, NIMS, CPR, and Maryland Registered EMT-B, and he remains among the company's top responders.
He was recognized with friends, family, and members of the community at the Lion's Club banquet dinner and treated with food prepared by Illiano's J&P Restaurant. The members, Lion's Club, and Hampstead Community congratulate Solomon for his accomplishments and dedication to the community along with furthering his education. He currently is a student of the UMBC Emergency Health Services College pursuing his goals of becoming a Paramedic.
If you see Solomon in the community, be sure to Thank & Congratulate him for his continuing efforts and dedication!
